Imagine..waiting 4 life
How would you feel if you woke up and knew you were dying? Imagine a life where you want the best and try to lead your life the best way possible by giving love to those who need it the most, doing no drugs and you still always get the short end of the stick.
Faith is a word that has many meanings..But “stupidity” is NOT one of them. I awake each day with a pain so severe I cry to the Lord for help. What is this pain i am feeling through my body and why Lord? I exercise and and I am very active. “Maybe it’s my height” i think to my 6’ 4” tall frame.
Times like this is when you get scared. Most black men will never go to the doctor for anything for fear of bad news. I however have been in so much pain that i am forced to crawl and even that hurts.
You could never imagine the stress of not being able to lift your own arms or lift your legs. You could never imagine starting each day feeling like you were hit by a car and stomped by 30 people in your sleep. It’s a horrible feeling that I have been experiencing for a year now.
Imagine someone telling you something and you forget it seconds later..Imagine counting and being stuck at 8. Imagine walking and forgetting where you were even headed to in the first place.
Imagine being angry for no apparent reason and next minute your crying..People calling you bi-polar…not knowing you’re in a state of depression. Not knowing every time you turn your neck it feels like a current of electricity is being shot through your nervous system….
Imagine muscle spasm’s in your upper, lower back, hips, thighs, feet, shoulders and fingers ALL AT THE EXACT SAME TIME…While your asleep and awake…Imagine not being able to see…Imagine being on so many medications you sleep 80% of the day.
Imagine not being able to enjoy the Sun any more and all its pleasures because it can kill you. Imagine only being able to eat veggies because the wrong meat can kill you instantly….
Imagine having blood drawn from you weekly…Steroids injected in all your joints weekly…The highest doses of pain killers and they do nothing for you after an hour.
Imagine waiting for life and sometimes waiting for death….
If you can Imagine this..then you can imagine having Lupus.
SLE (lupus) is an autoimmune disease. This means there is a problem with the body’s normal immune system response. Normally, the immune system helps protect the body from harmful substances. But in patients with an autoimmune disease, the immune system cannot tell the difference between harmful substances and healthy ones. The result is an overactive immune response that attacks otherwise healthy cells and tissue. This leads to long-term (chronic) inflammation. The underlying cause of autoimmune diseases is not fully known. SLE may be mild or severe enough to cause death. SLE affects nine times as many women as men. It may occur at any age, but appears most often in people between the ages of 10 and 50. African Americans and Asians are affected more often than people from other races. Symptoms vary from person to person, and may come and go. The condition may affect one organ or body system first. Others may become involved later. Almost all people with SLE have joint pain and swelling. Some develop arthritis. Frequently affected joints are the fingers, hands, wrists, and knees. Other common symptoms include: Chest pain when taking a deep breath Fatigue Fever with no other cause General discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling (malaise) Hair loss Mouth sores Sensitivity to sunlight Skin rash — a “butterfly” rash over the cheeks and bridge of the nose affects about half of people with SLE. The rash gets worse in sunlight. The rash may also be widespread. Other symptoms depend on what part of the body is affected: Brain and nervous system: Digestive tract: abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting Heart: abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) Kidney: blood in the urine Lung: coughing up blood and difficulty breathing Skin: patchy skin color, fingers that change color when cold (Raynaud’s phenomenon) EDUCATE YOURSELF….DON’T TAKE THE LIFE AND FREEDOM THE GOD HAS GIVEN YOU FOR GRANTED…SOME OF US PRAY WE HAD IT AGAIN. I am Skrill-Dilly and I have Lupus. I will survive. If not, I will fight until my death.
